[Baking] Chocolate Cookies

These cookies are a modification of the famous blogger as well as the Youtuber, Tanya Burr's chocolate cookies. Her recipe has been complemented by many of her followers and friends. Therefore I decided to give it a go and it turned out awesome. The texture of the cookie was crunchy while it is not as wet as the usual cookies that I have tried in the UK. The taste got even better after leaving overnight.

Since I have limited ingredients left in my pantry, I only made half batch of the original portion. The cookies supposed to be made as large as your palm, however, I decided to make it into a smaller version so that it can be consumed more conveniently.

The original recipe: http://www.tanyaburr.co.uk/?blog=blogs/archive/2015/05/02/my.chocolate.cookie.recipe.aspx

To make 24 small cookies you will need:

100g butter
150g sugar (I reduced to 130g*)
1/2 egg
138g self-raising flour
38g cocoa powder
a little dash of milk (I added 3tsp of milk)

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
Cream together the butter and sugar.
Crack in your egg.
Stir in the flour and cocoa powder.
Add a dash of milk if the mixture is too dry.
Pop it into the oven and bake it for 11 minutes and leave it to cool down for 30 minutes.

* I would reduce more sugar in the future as some of my friends commented that it was too sweet for them.

Enjoy and happy baking!

Love,
Fia

[Life] The Fish People Cafe

Me and Giovanna have not been seeing each other for more than 3 months. Since both she and Each has moved out from the student accommodation, I seldom see them at all. Therefore, we decided to hang out after her exam and Betty came along too!

We came to a nice, cosy restaurant which located just opposite the Shields Road subway station. This was my first time crossing over the River Clyde. The restaurant is smaller than I expected. I think the whole atmosphere will be much better if this cafe is facing the beach. However, the fact is that it is facing a bush.

I ordered a smoked salmon while Betty ordered a crab salad and Giovanna had Tandoori Sea Bass. All the courses were great and appetizing. I quite like Betty's crab salad. I used to be a fan of Scottish smoked salmon before visiting Sweden and Finland. I found that Scottish's smoked salmon is way too salty for me while Scandinavian's taste fresher than I expected!

Time flies. One of our friends, Milky, has left to Hong Kong today. Although I am not that close to him, we has still spent most of our time together such as Chinese New Year. The opportunity to seeing him in the future is small according to Tze Jean. I hope that he can do well in the future and hope to see all of you someday in the future.

Love,
Fia

[Traveling] Spontanueus trip to York

The blog seems to be abandoned for almost 6 months! Not that I didn't want to keep my life recording, it was just simply the overload workload between that period. Things like group projects, dissertation, meeting and etc had accounted 99.9% of my life (Am seriously not kidding).

Since I am pretty done with everything, I said 'pretty' is because I am still waiting for my feedback and grades of the dissertation and some assignments, I have plenty of time to update this tiny little space!

After a few days spending at home, I felt like going somewhere else. So I instantly booked a train ticket to York and decided to spend 3 days exploring the city. Here I am to share some photos that I have taken during the trips. The photos aren't fancy while I am not a professional photo editor, just a few pictures that show what I experienced during the stays. Hope you people enjoy it XD

The weather was really decent as it wasn't raining during those days. Thanks for the dry weather, York! I hate raining especially while travelling. Everything went well and the B&B I stayed in was really nice too. I had a huge room with 3 beds on my own! The railway museum is the place that most excite me while the chocolate factory is a also a nice place to be explored too! I was given lots of chocolate to try and you can also make yourself a chocolate loli by the end of the tour which is a highlight of the tour!
