[Little thought] Mourning to a 1 - day Friendship

We met each other on the sky bridge that link to our office building.

Since when, we started to say Hi and smile to each other while passing by the bridge.
Since when, I noticed that you would stand at the corner of the bridge to smoke.
Since when, we realized that we were actually working in the same building.
Since when, I noticed that you will only appear at 1200 noon.
Since when, saying Hi and smiling to each other has become a weekly habit for us.

We never introduced to each other until two days before we met at the convenient store downstairs at our office building.

We went for lunch and talked about our life a bit, then realized that you would be transferring back to your HQ.

I was once felt regretted to accept your lunch invitation. But now, I did not.
I am glad that I went for the lunch although this would be the first and last.

Being a one day friend is cool enough to commemorate this sky bridge friendship.

Thank you for being there to make my days. It was sad to say goodbye.

Wishing you all the best to your future.
Wishing me to have a brighter future too.

Have a great one, friend!

It was good to meet you.

[Food] Wild Honey KL Pavilion

Here I am finally have a chance to visit the Wild Honey in KL Pavilion. The restaurant is well - known for its spread of breakfast menu which you can enjoy the breakfast all day long.

I was actually planning to have my lunch after morning church service. However, God knows that Tze Jean was happened to be in Pavilion with her mum and relatives. So, it became our lunch date instead!

We were lucky to not have to queue to get into the restaurant. The queue was extremely long during the month it just opened :(

Since Tze Jean has already taken her lunch, she just ordered a Victoria Sponge and sauteed mushroom. We were blown up by the portion size of the cake where picture really cannot tell how big the cake is. It is suitable for sharing if you are not that hungry. The cake was pretty decent and not over-sweet. You can never go wrong with Victoria Sponge cake.

Victoria Sponge Cake

While since I had not had my lunch, I ordered the Ottoman which is actually a spicy shakshouka (tomato, red pepper, onion, chili) with baked eggs & topped with goat curd, blackened onions & fresh herbs with grilled flat bread.

I opted out the goat curd since both of us did not eat it.

The shakshouka tastes so good that makes me want to replicate one myself at home. I would say eggs and tomatoes are such a good pair. For those who do not dare to eat spicy food, do not worry. The spiciness have been covered by the sweetness of onions and tomatoes where I could not feel any spiciness in it.

How can we leave without a picture <3

I really enjoyed the lunch date with Tze Jean while we updated each other about our life and mutual friends. Feeling so great to be updated since our last meeting was few months back.

Wild Honey, your Ottoman has earned my heart. I will definitely go back to the restaurant and have it again! Till next time.

[Little thought] Some random thoughts

It is now September, meaning that I have been back to Malaysia for almost 2 months. Undeniably, it is always good to be home. I see myself as an extrovert who doesn't like to stay at home but somehow I think I am more of an introvert. I found myself prefer to stay at home, eat at home instead of leaving my house. Well, when everything is being prepared, who does not want it ?!

I only came back during the summer time during the past 4 years of my uni's days. The first two months were always the best while everything to me seemed fresh and new. Things then started to change after that. Parents started to mumble, mum started to get annoyed easily by what I did, feeling extremely uncomfortable with the god damn hot and humid weather and more than that.

Baking is not wrong. That is my passion. I hope I can bake when I want to. However, her stubborn and conservative mind always irritates me. She throws her temper on me when I bake or cook. She gets annoyed when I share my bakes with my aunts or friends. I don't get it. She shows me a straight face when I cook for my sister.

Well well well. It is alright, because she is older than me. I need to be respectful.

It is now September. I think it is almost the time to stay out of my comfort zone and challenge myself. And I think they somehow sick of seeing me now, hahahaha. I need to leave as soon as possible before the 'volcano erupts'. I just hope I can leave peacefully.

God, please lead me to the way that you think suits me. Tell me what to do, give me the direction, I do not want to be lost again. Praise to be Lord. Amen.

[Baking] Chocolate Cookies

These cookies are a modification of the famous blogger as well as the Youtuber, Tanya Burr's chocolate cookies. Her recipe has been complemented by many of her followers and friends. Therefore I decided to give it a go and it turned out awesome. The texture of the cookie was crunchy while it is not as wet as the usual cookies that I have tried in the UK. The taste got even better after leaving overnight.

Since I have limited ingredients left in my pantry, I only made half batch of the original portion. The cookies supposed to be made as large as your palm, however, I decided to make it into a smaller version so that it can be consumed more conveniently.

The original recipe: http://www.tanyaburr.co.uk/?blog=blogs/archive/2015/05/02/my.chocolate.cookie.recipe.aspx

To make 24 small cookies you will need:

100g butter
150g sugar (I reduced to 130g*)
1/2 egg
138g self-raising flour
38g cocoa powder
a little dash of milk (I added 3tsp of milk)

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
Cream together the butter and sugar.
Crack in your egg.
Stir in the flour and cocoa powder.
Add a dash of milk if the mixture is too dry.
Pop it into the oven and bake it for 11 minutes and leave it to cool down for 30 minutes.

* I would reduce more sugar in the future as some of my friends commented that it was too sweet for them.

Enjoy and happy baking!

Love,
Fia

[Life] The Fish People Cafe

Me and Giovanna have not been seeing each other for more than 3 months. Since both she and Each has moved out from the student accommodation, I seldom see them at all. Therefore, we decided to hang out after her exam and Betty came along too!

We came to a nice, cosy restaurant which located just opposite the Shields Road subway station. This was my first time crossing over the River Clyde. The restaurant is smaller than I expected. I think the whole atmosphere will be much better if this cafe is facing the beach. However, the fact is that it is facing a bush.

I ordered a smoked salmon while Betty ordered a crab salad and Giovanna had Tandoori Sea Bass. All the courses were great and appetizing. I quite like Betty's crab salad. I used to be a fan of Scottish smoked salmon before visiting Sweden and Finland. I found that Scottish's smoked salmon is way too salty for me while Scandinavian's taste fresher than I expected!

Time flies. One of our friends, Milky, has left to Hong Kong today. Although I am not that close to him, we has still spent most of our time together such as Chinese New Year. The opportunity to seeing him in the future is small according to Tze Jean. I hope that he can do well in the future and hope to see all of you someday in the future.

Love,
Fia

[Traveling] Spontanueus trip to York

The blog seems to be abandoned for almost 6 months! Not that I didn't want to keep my life recording, it was just simply the overload workload between that period. Things like group projects, dissertation, meeting and etc had accounted 99.9% of my life (Am seriously not kidding).

Since I am pretty done with everything, I said 'pretty' is because I am still waiting for my feedback and grades of the dissertation and some assignments, I have plenty of time to update this tiny little space!

After a few days spending at home, I felt like going somewhere else. So I instantly booked a train ticket to York and decided to spend 3 days exploring the city. Here I am to share some photos that I have taken during the trips. The photos aren't fancy while I am not a professional photo editor, just a few pictures that show what I experienced during the stays. Hope you people enjoy it XD

The weather was really decent as it wasn't raining during those days. Thanks for the dry weather, York! I hate raining especially while travelling. Everything went well and the B&B I stayed in was really nice too. I had a huge room with 3 beds on my own! The railway museum is the place that most excite me while the chocolate factory is a also a nice place to be explored too! I was given lots of chocolate to try and you can also make yourself a chocolate loli by the end of the tour which is a highlight of the tour!

[Life] Meal recording

Another day with overloading workload. But delighted by the post of timothy tiah and fourfeetnine. Fighter's pictures always make me happy and release my stress. How i hope i am still a baby, eat, sleep, play and eat again. No need to worry about other stuffs!
Well, i think i should record down what i eat everyday so that i am able to show my parents if i do eat and also eating well. They keep ask me to eat more but my stomach is just that small. I am trying to consume more meat too.
I am not a vegetarian, i just don't like meat. Don't ask me why. But now no more excuse, i should increase the consumption of meat and poultry. So what i made for my lunch today is ....
Stir fried cabbage, grean beans and carrot, pan fried beef, baked brussels sprouts and lots of spring onions. Oh i forgot about the tomato

The colours are matching so well with each others. The presentation is beyond my expectation until i took the pictures. So i gonna post another photo of it hahahahaha

Ohhh pretty niceeee right  I am so addicted to foods that are crispy like cabbage, cauliflower and carrot. I some how missing rojak these days so so much. Just missing the taste and the crispness of the chinese cruller. Where the hell i can get it in the UK. And i am missing ais kacang (red bean shaved ice)  tooooo wtf How I wish I can have the shave ice machine so that I can just make one here.
